Today: Faith!
This video, #6 of the series, is about the elephant in the room:
How to “do” our faith?
Too often we often see Faith as something we must work at or ‘do’, against what we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch… But that’s hard. Unnecessarily hard.
Instead of trying to ‘have’ faith or ‘do’ faith… think of it as a position instead.
A place, from which your words and actions will flow.
Reinforce your position.
Fear and faith compete. Your expectation matters. What you focus on matters: are you focusing on the waves, or on the healer walking upon them? They’re both real.
God loves to show up.
What are you expecting to happen next?
Here are the passages I list at the end of the video, to read before we chat next time (not necessary to follow along, but some great stuff!):
- Ps 126
- Jer 31:1-14 (v24)
- Ezek 36:22-30
- Joel 2:21-30
- Amos 9:11-15

Coffee Time Videos: To my fellow Christians facing fear, anxiety, or life’s struggles: Join me for morning coffee and quiet time in these ‘Coffee Time’ videos! I offer regular encouragement in short (under 20-minute) videos. I’ll walk through some great scripture passages to build a case for hope and faith.
This particular Coffee-Time series, called “Pulling Yourself Out of a Dark Place”, is for fellow believers who may struggle with fear, anxiety, life messes that seem inescapable, or just some basic questions of how to ‘do’ our faith when the rubber meets the road.
I want to give you totally reasonable reasons to look forward with great hope. Let’s calm fears, answer questions, soothe anxiety, and get you excited for renewal and revival.
